Here I present a fabulous and totally unique dendritic agate pendant set in a sterling silver open prong setting. The dendrites look like a man chasing after a baby whilst being pursued by a ghost in the wind. The cab itself is slightly opaque white and clear with a perfectly placed line of druze sand through it. Dendrites are formed in rock when plant material gets trapped during its formation up to millions of years ago.
This stone is one of nature's works of art and is highly polished and a well-cut example from my friend in Indonesia.
The pendant is supplied with a cord necklace that's been knotted in situ to keep it balanced.
Agate can be traced back to early artistic pieces that were carved in the Bronze age. Its resistance to acids makes it perfect for use in pestles and mortars today. It was used for carving throughout ancient civilisations and formed a pivotal role in early Bronze Age Minoan cultures.
